Some love stories cross neighborhoods. Others cross cities. Yash & Tanaya’s crossed the Mumbai-Pune Expressway — and on 19th June 2026, it brought both their families together at Shehnai Hall, Thane, for an engagement day neither will forget.

Two Cities, One Bond

Yash calls Pune home — a city of college friendships, weekend treks, and a particular kind of unhurried warmth. Tanaya belongs to Thane, a city that moves fast but never forgets its own. When their families decided to bring the two together for a Roka ceremony, the question wasn’t just which hall to book — it was how to make two very different worlds feel like one room.

Why Shehnai Hall

Shehnai Hall in Thane West turned out to be the ideal middle ground — spacious enough for both families’ guest lists, with the kind of soft, even lighting that lets a candid photographer actually do their job instead of fighting harsh shadows all evening.

Capturing the Ring Ceremony

Our approach at Wedtatva Films was simple: stay close, stay quiet, and let the day unfold. The nervous energy before Tanaya’s entry. The moment Yash’s hands weren’t quite steady during the ring exchange. The aunties from Pune meeting the aunties from Thane for the first time and immediately finding common ground. These are the frames that matter more than any posed shot ever could.

A Story Still Being Written

An engagement is really just the first chapter. For Yash & Tanaya, it’s the chapter where two cities agreed to become one family — and we’re grateful to have been there to document it.
